What does a housekeeper not clean?

A professional housekeeper does not handle biohazards, mold remediation, pest infestations, heavy clutter or hoarding conditions, exterior work such as roofs and gutters, high-reach windows requiring ladders beyond safe limits, pet or human waste cleanup, or moving heavy furniture and appliances. These fall outside standard residential cleaning for safety, liability, and licensing reasons.

Clear expectations are part of a good cleaning experience. At Rose Sparkly Clean LLC we would rather tell you upfront what is not included than have it discovered on the first visit. Here is the honest list.

Out of scope items and who handles them

Things that need a different service, not a different cleaner

    • Heavy drywall dust and adhesive residue after a remodel — that is post-construction clean up.
    • An empty home that needs to be deposit-ready — that is a move in / move out clean.
    • A year of buildup in grout, vents, and inside appliances — that is a deep clean, not a regular visit.

What we do go out of our way to include

    • All professional-grade products and equipment, brought by our crew.
    • Detail work most companies charge extra for on deep cleans: baseboards, switch plates, door frames, vents.
    • A final walkthrough so nothing is left unsaid.

If it is not on the list, just ask. Most of the time we can either do it or tell you exactly who should.

    Frequently asked questions

    Do housekeepers clean mold?

No. Surface mildew in a shower can be treated during a deep clean, but actual mold growth requires a licensed remediation contractor with containment equipment.

Will a cleaner move my furniture?

Cleaners will move light items and clean around and behind heavy furniture where it is safe, but they will not move heavy furniture or appliances due to damage and injury risk.

Do house cleaners do laundry and dishes?

These are not part of a standard cleaning scope. Rose Sparkly Clean can include them only by prior arrangement as part of a customized plan.

Can a housekeeper clean up after construction?

Not as part of a regular visit. Construction dust requires HEPA vacuums and specialized methods — that is handled by our post-construction clean up service.
